Cape Town is Booked. Gents we will be staying at the Southern Sun " Cape Sun Hotel " in the heart of the City on the night we arrive, 18th June and then again when we return from Durban on the 21st - 26th June. Price was very reasonable at £43 pp / night.

Finally shocked into ation Simon comes to terms with the loss of the most money he has parted with for some considerable time. It does now mean that he is officially back on the tour and that someone will have to share a room with him and listen to his moaning and groaning. Vickers is back in the fold. Just as the tour was in danger of falling apart, Richard fronts up and potentially gives Del someones hand to hold on the way home. Having mortgaged his parents and cleaned out his racing account, Uncle Buck will not be able to field a single dog at the Wheeltappers and Shunters Christmas extraviganza at Belle Vue this year. We just need the other 2 to make a commitment and we will be back on track. Accommodation is very difficult to come by so I can't wait any longer for them

KLM Flights are booked and there's no turning back. We fly from Glasgow to Cape Town via Amsterdam with KLM leaving on the morning of the 18th June.

Freddie times his arrival to perfection. Del's Tour is safe thanks to young Freddies arrival on the 30th of June 2008. He can now travel out with Sandy and myself and travel back on the 28th to arrive in time for the wee mans first birthday.

It's the South Africa Six all over again. Sneds and Ped, our very own Laurel and Hardy are unable to travel, but there places are taken by Simon Gray and now Richard Vickers. Richard will join the tour from New York and meet up with the main tour party in Johannesburg. Simon is jetting in from Penang.

Junior MacFeate is now overdue and as soon as she makes an appearance we will confirm flight dates. Not like a MacFeate to keep us waiting.

It's "Hasta la Vista" as the sun sets on Pedro's Tour. The Sleazy Rider has decided to go Wild Hog in 2010 and the Harley Davidson Fat Boys will be seen sunning themselves in San Diego rather than cape Town. ' Or will they ? '

Sneds finally calls it a day. Tex Ritter will not be joining the Tour. After much thought, the heat of South Africa was the telling factor.

McGeechan named as head coach for the 2009 Lions. It is expected that Gatlan and Edwards will assist him. McGeechan was hot favoutie for the job, with a 1997 Test Series win already on his CV. Players will not be sollected until after the 2009 Six Nations, but Welsh captain Ryan Jones is the stand out choice to captain the touring Lions at this time.

Gerals Davies will take the British and Irish Lions to South Africa in 2009 with Test Matches in Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg. Surprisingly, there is no test planned for Newlands so Cape Town misses out with only the consolation of a mid week game for the Emerging Springboks..
