This page gives a list of possible activities to keep us entertained and sober.
We need to decide what we want to do and when we want to do them. Prices
will be posted once the agenda is finalised.

LIONS TEST MATCHES
The 3 test matches are the reason were are in South Africa, Provided Del comes up with the tickets we will be in full uniform in Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg

MID WEEK LIONS MATCH
Surprisingly there is no Test match at Newlands in Cape Town, however the Lions take on the emerging Springboks in a mid week match. We have the option of going to the game or watching on TV in a Cape Town Bar.

We have only a short time in Durban and it may be worth relaxing on the beech to recover from our travels before the real action of the tour begins

If the weather is good the beaches are worth a visit for a few hours in the middle of the day.

VICTORIA & ALFRED WATERFRONT
The in place to eat and drink in Cape Town. City Center may have more nightlife but the V&A is ideal for afternoon or early evening entertainment.

TABLE MOUNTAIN
A must see whe in Cape Town. A revolving cable car takes you to the top and the views are fantastic. You can even absail down if you are feeling adventurous.

ROBBEN ISLAND
Where Mandela was imprisoned for over 20 years. It takes a good half day but is very interesting and you can stand in the very cell where the great man slept.

SHARK DIVE
Cage diving with Great White Sharks is bucket list item that you may never get the chance to do again. Highly recommended.

WHALE WATCHING
Can be seasonal but if you are in luck you can get up close with the Southern Wright Whale and other large marine life. The big 5 of the ocean are the Southern Wright Whale, Humpback Dolphin, Great White Shark, Cape Fur Seal and the Cape Penguin.

HELECOPTER RIDE
Take a Huey trip round Cape Town and you won't be dissappointed. The opensided helecopter gives you a real sense of height and speed and the scenery is awesome.

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE
Seems a shame to go to South Africa and not visit the cape. The famous landmark is the last stop before the Great Southern Ocean and Antarctica

THE CAPE WINELANDS
The Western cape is world famous for its high quality wines and the vinyards of constantia and Stellenbosch are amoung the most well known. "Spier" is a large vinyard and Cheetah farm that allows you to smaple their many different wines and to enjoy traditional African food. The farms enables you to get up close with the worlds fasted land animal and enjoy a raptor show in their sanctuary which houses many birds of prey.

LION AND RHINO PARK
A small wildlife park that specialises in Lions. See the big cats up close and get in the enclosure with lion cubs. Another bucket list item that should not be missed. The park also contains Rhino and many different species of buck.

A cultural visit to a traditional African village. Experience the Music, Dance, Food and History of the rainbow nation.

THE MONTECASINO MALL
Motecasino is an indoor Tuscan village designed to house restuarants, bars, clubs and theatres. It plays host to the nations Springbok fans and will be the place to go during the later stages in Johannesburg

HARTEBEESTPOORT MARKET
A huge indoor and outdoor African Market. The salemen can be very pushy but you will pick up some unusual items at very reasonable prices if you are prepared to barter.

ELEPHANT SAFARI
An early start leaving from Sun City, but a unique experience. Ride on the back of elephants through the edges of the Pilannesberg Game reserve. It is pricey but where else will you get this chance

BIG 5 SAFARI
Pilannesberg is a large game reserve close to Sun City and a Big 5 Safari is a must. These animals are wild and dangerous but no trip to Africa would be complete without a Safari.

HOT AIR BALLOON SAFARI
A relaxing way to get a birds eye view of Africas wildlife. Can be pricey but would be something to call home about

HORSEBACK SAFARI
You can get into the heart of the game herds on horseback as the animals do not see you as a threat. Basic riding skill are a help but not absolutely necessary. Takes a half day, then a couple of hours to get the feeling back in your bum

SOWETO TOUR
Not everyones cup of tea but interesting and an eye opener on how the other half live. You can visit Mandelas house under the supervision of tour guides.

THE ZULU WAR BATTLEFIELDS
Stand in the shadow of Isandlwahna where the British Army suffered it most embarrasing defeat at the hands of a native people. The Zulu wars were short and brutal and none more famous than the defence of Rorkes Drift where the British, although heavily out numbered held firm against thousands of Zulus.
